Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a 13-week contract assignment in a correctional facility in Aberdeen, Washington. This position offers a consistent Monday through Friday day schedule and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing quality patient care within a correctional healthcare environment. Extensions may be available based on facility needs and performance.
Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to incarcerated patients within the scope of LPN practice.

Administer medications and treatments as ordered by providers.

Monitor and document patient health status, responses to treatment, and nursing interventions.

Assist with intake screenings, assessments, and chronic care management.

Collaborate with physicians, registered nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.

Respond to medical emergencies and assist with patient stabilization as needed.

Follow infection control, safety, and security protocols within the correctional setting.
Requirements

Active Washington State LPN License or Compact LPN License in good standing.

Minimum 2 years of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) experience .

Current CPR/BLS certification.

Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.

Ability to work effectively in a correctional healthcare environment.

Must successfully complete credentialing, background screening, and facility clearance requirements.

The Corrections Licensed Practical Nurse works in close and immediate contact with adults and children in custody on a daily basis providing general and emergency nursing care in the Medical and Ambulatory section of the Corrections Facility while maintaining facility security standards.
Minimum Requirements:

Possesses a current Practical Nursing License in the applicable state

Minimum of one year experience in Corrections preferred

Current CPR if applicable

TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age
